Opening Night

Opening night is our most in demand screening! Everyone is required to RSVP online to reserve a seat even if you have a pass!

The night begins on the Red Carpet at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts; our Festival home base. We recommend you arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the film to guarantee your spot. 15 minutes before the film begins we will open a rush only line to fill any available seats. Cameras and recording devices are allowed on the Red Carpet, however their use is not permitted inside the theater. If you are an Access, Premium, Industry or Filmmaker Pass Holder and you are not able to pick up your pass prior to the showing, a list will be available at the door. Please call our main festival line to make arrangements. If you are later than 15 minutes prior to the screening, you must get in the general admission line.

Following the Opening Night screening we invite all ticket and pass holders to join us at the Boys and Girls Club of Annapolis & Anne Arundel County at the Wiley H. Bates Building to toast the night away with signature cocktails, food and deserts! (121 S. Villa Ave., Annapolis, MD 21401)

Tips & Tricks

Plan ahead to make sure you have enough time to travel between venues. Most venues are within walking-distance, and two complimentary Annapolis Circulators will travel between all five screening locations. The Circulators will be available from 9:00 am – 12:00 am on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Please arrive at least 20 minutes before each screening begins. Lines will be divided into general pass and ticket holders and Priority Line & Priority Seating.  Those using priority seating and priority line must arrive 15 minutes early or they will have to join the general pass holders to be seated. Seating for All Access pass holders is reserved, for all others it is General Admission and is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Space permitting, day-of Rush Line tickets may be purchased at each venue for all screenings. Festival Passes, Student Passes, and Day Passes can only purchased at Ticket and Pass Central (801 Chase Street – inside Maryland Hall). We are only able to accept cash and credit cards during the Festival.

If a screening is on "stand-by" (advance ticket sales have ended), a Rush Line will form at the venue. Cash only tickets will be available for purchase 10 minutes before show time as seating becomes available. Ticket price is $15 cash only. Discounts not applicable.

Saturday Bash is available to All Access, Premium, Industry, Filmmaker and Friend pass holders only.

We cannot reissue passes, so please do not lose your pass. Wear comfortable shoes! Engage with filmmakers and enjoy the experience!
