Opening Night: To Olivia

Based on Stephen Michael Shearer’s novel, this dramatic feature stars Hugh Bonneville as the eccentric, burgeoning children’s author Roald Dahl, and Keeley Hawes as his glamorous American movie star wife, Patricia Neal. The film takes place in the 1960’s when they have retreated to the English countryside, but their idyllic life is marred by a family tragedy. Through the power of love and creativity, they find the strength to accomplish their artistic goals: Dahl writing “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” and Neal auditioning for the movie Hud with Paul Newman.
