How To Fest

A Safe Festival

Annapolis Film Festival will be following all County and State guidelines and mandates as well as working with local health professionals to provide the safest in-person festival experience. We will require proof of full vaccination (as defined as two weeks post your second shot or two weeks post your single shot of J&J) or a negative PCR test within 72 hours of the event you are attending for entry. This applies to all pass holders as well as individual ticket buyers. Properly worn and approved masks will be required for all indoor AFF screenings and events and must be replaced in-between sips and bites.

Proof of entry requirements will be checked at Ticket & Pass Central at Maryland Hall in room 211 beginning on Thursday, March 31st between 9am and 4pm. You must show proof of entry eligibility before attending any AFF event. Please check back frequently for updates.

Opening Night

Opening night is our most in demand screening! All pass holders will receive an RSVP email from our box office to secure their spot. If you do not receive an email or have not RSVP'd by March 28th, please contact the Box Office Manager directly about seating availability: boxoffice@annapolisfilmfestival.com. Please note that this RSVP request only applies to Opening Night. You do not need to RSVP for additional films, panels, or programs. (This RSVP does not entitle you to a “reserved seat” inside of the auditorium. The RSVP system is AFF’S internal tracking to ensure that all pass holders have the opportunity to utilize their pass benefit of attending the Opening Night film. Seating will be general admission once inside the auditorium. If you do not RSVP, there is no guarantee that you will be entitled to a seat at the event.)

For Opening Night, doors will open 45 minutes prior to scheduled program start time for priority pass holder seating. 30 minutes prior to scheduled programed start time, general passholders will be invited to sit. Once all on-time, in-line, general pass holders have been seated, we will open the auditorium to general ticket holders. 15 minutes prior to scheduled program start time, we will open up day-of, cash only, rush ticket sales for purchase, space permitting. Your RSVP for Opening Night is not guaranteed if you arrive post the 15-minute scheduled program start time.

The night begins on the Red Carpet (weather permitting) at Maryland Hall; our Festival home base. Please remember that even with an RSVP, you must follow the 30 minute rule for seating. Cameras and recording devices are allowed on the Red Carpet, however their use is not permitted inside the theater. If you are an All Access, Premium, Industry or Filmmaker Pass Holder and you are not able to pick up your pass prior to the showing, a list will be available at the door. Please call our main festival line to make arrangements. If you are later than 15 minutes prior to the screening, you must get in the general admission line.

Following the Opening Night screening we invite all ticket and pass holders to join us to toast the night away with signature cocktails, food and deserts!

Tips & Tricks

Plan ahead to make sure you have enough time to travel between venues. Most venues are within walking-distance, and two complimentary Annapolis Circulators will travel between all five screening locations. The Circulators will be available from 9:00 am – 12:00 am on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Please arrive at least 20 minutes before each screening begins. Lines will be divided into general passes and ticket holders and priority passes.  Those using priority seating and priority line must arrive 15 minutes early or they will have to join the general line to be seated. Seating for All Access pass holders is reserved in sections, for all others it is general admission and is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Space permitting, day-of Rush Line tickets may be purchased at each venue for all screenings. Festival Passes, Student Passes, and Shorts Passes can only be purchased at Ticket and Pass Central (801 Chase Street – inside Maryland Hall). We are only able to accept credit cards during the Festival.

If a screening is on "stand-by" (advance ticket sales have ended), a Rush Line will form at the venue. Day-of tickets will be available for purchase 10 minutes before show time as seating becomes available. Ticket price is $15 credit only. Discounts not applicable.

If your pass is damaged or lost, you must come to Ticket & Pass Central to receive a replacement. Bring your ID and proof of purchase receipt to have another pass printed. Wear comfortable shoes! Engage with filmmakers and enjoy the experience!
